Origin:  Julie Doucet’s work first got noticed in Robert Crumb’s underground comix magazine, Weirdo.  Today, she’s retired from comics, but her groundbreaking, personal anthology, Dirty Plotte(1988-99), still remains a major influence on the current alternative comics scene.
