Mike Freiheit is a cartoonist, illustrator and teacher in Chicago. He's currently working on a big ol' graphic novel called Monkey Chef, a story about his time spent at a primate sanctuary in South Africa.

and what I mean is, this guy Little Fears
has 214 “likes” for his dinosaur that he “vaguely” or barely drew with a computer… and he’s probably making money off of blogging…
And here you are actually spending time drawing!!!!!
Oh well… a superhero has to do it for the love.
Howdy Katherine. Illustration and me, ehhh, I’d say I tell a story more than drawing. As for earning, nope, I do not make much from the Fears. In all honesty, it started as a side project. It was never meant to be an income. My actual income has mostly come from in-house work for people I know and nothing drawing wise.
For stick figures that earn, look to XKCD.org . Again, it’s more the story than art that sells XKCD, my word are those folk intelligent.
That’s funny you found your link I dropped here on Illustration Age, Little Fears. I grant you take criticism rather well.
You first commented/followed me on my Tabby Ren Elle music warlord gratitude journal site and I kicked you to the curb and you took that rather well too.
You don’t deserve my wrath. It’s just when I look at your computer art and stick figures they infuriate me. That’s obviously not your fault. I simply have an allergic reaction.
I ceased following Illustration age… they have some beautiful graphic artists and painters from time to time, but over-all the female representation is all still male-slanted p.o.v and pandering to male tastes IMHO.
Obviously I don’t sound humble. :) But truly… don’t sweat my criticism. I’m a hard sell and mostly grumpy on line.
Peace to U little fears. Yer a-ok.

Funny, I thought I remembered your name. To be honest miss, your criticism has reason behind it. Critique with reason is helpful. Without criticism we can’t grow. Without criticism I wouldn’t have sorted out my spelling and grammar (which used to be fecking woeful).
The only time I get frustrated is non-descript criticism. The person who leaves a one star “this book was shit,” on Amazon, you know? I haven’t had that myself, touch wood I don’t. But yeah, we spoke before and you got me heh. You know what I mean.
Peace to you too, Katherine. In all your grumpy fashion. 😊✌️
INTERESTING CARTOONS!!
Yes thanks
Your skills betray you…that flyer illo isn’t so terrible! I am enjoying the series, and looking forward to the next swashbuckling episode.
It’s true… you work that hard drawing Mike, but this guy is all stick figures and comes out basically saying the same for less:

Does he get paid? I dunno.
