I first encountered the work of Bunpei Yorifuji while riding the Metro subway in Tokyo. The Metro manners series had a great sense of humour and the simple line illustrations in familiar ‘aircraft safety brochure’ infographic style was so popular he was called back for a second year (Metro Japan has run it’s ‘manners poster’ campaign since 1974). Prior to this campaign Bunpei was probably best known for his stickers and bills for Japan Tobacco advising on smoking etiquette but more recently I fell in love with him all over again when I discovered his Wonderful Life with Elements illustrations describing the periodic table in the form of various characters.
Bunpei works as a graphic designer, book designer and illustrator in Tokyo, Japan.
nice Illustrations! Thanks for sharing!
My family always say that I am killing my time here at net,
however I know I am getting familiarity every day by reading such pleasant articles.
