Powerful Experimental Piece by Michael Marsicano

InTheMidstOfLife-1

“This piece initially started as a small graphite sketch of a head. I was just trying to work some slack into my normal drawing style and see what kind of happy accidents could occur. However, after a few minutes, I noticed that the composition and flow of the drawing was completely different from anything I’ve ever done. So i dug in and attempted to create a super busy composition while maintaining a sense of quiet throughout the piece.

It’s funny how sometimes when you are sitting down to draw something, you initially set out with very specific intentions that somewhere along the way dissipate and you come out the other end learning something that was completely unintended. For your consideration – the product of a very strange experience I had at my drawing table this past week.”
