Fashion Illustration by Laura Laine

Laura Laine is a Helsinki based illustrator. Who doesn’t know her? Her work is stunning. I love her characters, the long hair, the texture of the clothes and the minimal color palette. It’s feminine, but has a creepy twist.

She has studied fashion design at University of Art and Design Helsinki, but during her studies focused on fashion illustration. After completing her studies she has been working full-time as a freelance illustrator and is also teaching fashion illustration at the university.

Her recent clients include Vogue Nippon, GAP, I.T. store, Elle, Zara, The New York Times T magazine, Tommy Hilfiger, Muse magazine, The Guardian, I.T. Post magazine. She has also exhibited in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Spectrum 18 Silver Award: Scott Brundage

“Tigers have striped skin, not just striped fur,” claims the Brooklyn-based editorial illustrator, Scott Brundage. Whether Scott has the scientific background to back this up, we don’t know. We do know that when Scott illustrates a topic, the pure whimsy he infuses into each image defies most laws of physics.

Scott is also well-known for his rollover illustrations, best appreciated on the web.
