J.K. Woodward is an illustrator, painter, and comics artist known for helping writer Peter David relaunch his creator-owned series Fallen Angel with IDW Publishing.  As you can tell by that impressive 50 Year Anniversary Star Trek piece above, Woodward likes to paint traditionally.  You can see the whole step-by-step process behind creating that triptych on his art blog here.

I believe Woodward has been doing some of his best, most creative cover work on the recent Micronauts series from IDW, of which the 7th issue(top) hit stands this week.

Additional credits: Mortal Coils, Digital Webbing Presents Crazy Mary, CSI:NY comics, X-Men Origins: The Beast, Star Trek/Doctor Who crossover, and many more!
