Sandy Jarrell understands the language of comics; choreographing a page, using space effectively, contrasting light & dark. If you read Jarrell’s blog “funnybookin'”, you’ll see that he has a great reverence for the old masters like C.C. Beck for instance. So, no wonder his characters tend to run lighter, more true to life than many of the dark & gritty comics on the market today.
In addition to drawing interiors for comics, including the popular web-first DC Comics Bombshells, Jarrell has been quite busy illustrating variant covers for books like the upcoming Patsy Walker AKA Hellcat #11(top image).
