Nen Chang, a self proclaimed “low brow artist”, works with traditional media, painting her illustrations with watercolor & gouache, after inking her drawings. As far as I can tell Chang is new to having her work published in comics. She’s been a character/costume designer and promotional illustrator for various clients, including the card game Shinobi Clans by Posthuman Studios.
Chang’s variant cover for Mockingbird #2(top) hits stands this week and it looks to be an instant sell out. Her Women of Power variant for Marvel’s Sam Wilson: Captain America #7 has also been disappearing fast, and she recently started doing covers for Dynamite’s series Dejah Thoris. I can definitely see Chang’s style appealing to comics fans, so I look forward to seeing many more covers from her in the future!
