It’s no wonder that Goñi Montes has been featured here on Illustration Age before, since his work is absolutely stunning!  Montes provides the variant cover to this week’s Power Rangers #2(top).  Montes has also illustrated covers for BOOM Studios’ Robocop comic book and the Clive Barker series, Next Testament.  Montes choreographs his colors perfectly to take each piece to the next level!

After growing up in Puerto Rico and earning his BA there, Montes went on to obtain his MFA from Savannah College of Art & Design in Atlanta, GA.  In addition to working on covers for the comic book industry, Montes has also contributed editorial illustrations for various publications, including Entertainment Weekly, Field & Stream, Playboy, Society of Illustrators LA, and Wired, to name just a few.

You can follow Goñi Montes and learn more about his art process at his tumblr blog here.
