Our Comics Illustrator of the Week, Mingjue Helen Chen, is responsible for two new comic book covers this week. She’s illustrating covers for Gotham Academy’s new “Yearbook” story-line and is the cover artist for Marvel’s Spider-Man spin-off series, Silk. If you’re interested in fully diving into her work you should pickup Gotham Academy #7. It features cover & interior art by Chen; each page is digitally painted and looks like it could be a storyboard for a new animated feature!
In fact, Chen does work in animation as an Art Director & Visual Development Artist. She’s worked on such films as Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, Wreck-it-Ralph, and Big Hero 6. You can see more of her animation work on her website here.
I’m sure Mingjue is busy enough as it is, but I hope we get to see more interior comics work from her in the future.
If you’d like to see the most recent stream of Mingjue Helen Chen art, then just follow her here!

Great work!
