The paper sculptures of Russian illustrators and sculptors Alexey Lyapunov and Lena Erlich are by turns amazing and sweet and devastating. Everything about this Fan the Flame campaign for Amnesty International is intense. The restraint shown in the color palette, the the intricate detail of the paper sculptures, the delicate nature of the this particular artform in taking on brutality…it all works to create a highly memorable set of images.
Lyapunov and Erlich work together as People Too. Not all of their work deals with such heavy issues, some of it is downright sweet, but all of it is extraordinary. Plenty of WIP to see on their site and their Behance page.
