Fated Innocent by Chrystal Chan

The Art Order challenge is like the company watering hole for fantasy artists. Everyone knows about it, and a lot of people submit art and use the challenge to work on personal pieces. D&D AD Jon Schindehette runs the blog and the challenges, and nobody really knows how he finds the time for this great community resource. If you like fantasy art, there is a wide range of talent on there, and I like to scope it out for new talent. That said, I find a lot of similar tropes for these kinds of open challenges.

This round, the Nymph Challenge, I was surprised and mesmerized by this entry from Chrystal Chan. The simple approach is almost editorial in nature, and beautifully painted. Realistic, and yet rife with subtle detail. I could stare and stare and this piece and keep finding new wonders in the range of flesh tones, and textures.
