Science Textbook Cover Illustration by Jason Solo

“I was excited to illustrate a cover for Pearson Education’s year 9 science series recently. There was a loose theme related to nanotechnology which was great fun to depict. All the elements are created in Illustrator with light effects added in Photoshop. Textures and other ethereal stuff was added by hand. I hope the kids like it, and the best part is, they’ll have to carry it even if they don’t!” – Jason Solo

This is such an amazing illustration, that I almost mistook it for a 3D CGI. The lighting and the reflections are quite expert and the details within the nanobytes is quite intricate. This is really inspirational… It is such a shame that most kids won’t be able to comprehend such talent until it’s too late. Maybe this’ll interest them :)

I guarantee that many kids will get lost in their textbook cover, and it just might inspire some of them to make art.
