I Love Marker Smell and the Work of Holly Wales

Holly Wales is an amazing illustrator. The fact that she uses felt tip markers for to such a wild and colorful body of work is pretty damn cool. Her work for the New York Times Lives column brings mundane objects like typewriters, old boxes and alarm clocks to life. So good.

This is really incredible. I’m going to have to share it with my fifth grade students. They have little to no self control when it comes to using markers, but look what you can do!
