Illuxcon 2011 – The Fantasy Illustration Conference

November 3-6 (next weekend) the fourth annual Illuxcon will take place, as always, in Altoona PA. Co-directors Pat and Jeannie Wilshire have once again added more bang for your con-buck, at this one-of-a-kind art symposium, while keeping the event intimate as ever. Illuxcon is four days spent ogling the best in original fantasy and sci-fi art, watching lectures from living legends and young upstarts, and there’s even a live bronze pour demo. Altoona is admittedly a sleepy town, which means all the artists there head back to one of a few hangout spots each evening. It is four days well spent if you are a genre illustrator looking to find other like-minded folks.

I will be on a panel this year talking about the future of art communities with Pete Mohrbacher of WIP Nation and Jon Schindehette, Art Director at Wizards of the Coast and founder of the Art Order.
