The New Yorker has a long history of embracing illustration inside and out, which is something we’ve highlighted before here at Illustration Age. In fact, their illustrated covers are downright legendary both for those who follow the world of illustration and those who could care less.
This month they’re taking things a step further – or 8 steps further, rather – by printing a total of 9 different illustrated covers to commemorate The New Yorker’s 90th anniversary.
To celebrate the fact that we’re entering our tenth decade, we turned, as we do every week, to our artists for ideas, and this time we decided to publish more than one. We picked nine covers for our ninety years, selecting images that reflect the talent and diversity of our contributors and the range of artistic media they use. – Françoise Mouly

I wish I could demonstrate visuals clearly and confidently with Illustrations but that is not my forte. I respect Graphic Designers – their love of the visually unknown. There is this fanciful spirit brought to life by Graphic Designers & Illustrators through Marketing and Campaigns that is insurmountable. You can go anywher with art. And also because sometimes a picture is most certainly worth a thousand words.
Such an inspiring article, and the illustrations, especially the Mattotti’s… Real nice!
Your ideas are original and simply fascinating, Love your style. Keep up the good work!
