1000 Self Portraits by 2 Artists

Every illustrator has drawn his/her face once in their life, but have you ever tried it 1000 times?

In 1000 different ways? To capture 1000 different expressions?

I’ve seen short animations of people who took a picture everyday for a couple of years, but drawing takes a little more time.

If you would make a ’15 minute drawing’, it will take you 250 hours to finish 1000 selfportraits.

If you draw a self portrait everyday, it will take you 142,8 weeks to get 1000 selfportraits.

It’s interesting to see how how these artist tried so many  different approaches!

Tom Law made a short animation of his work as you can see in the short film above, and below the 1000 self portraits of Andrew Jones.

VIDEO: Animation by Han Hoogerbrugge

One of the famous animations by Han Hoogerbrugge,  a dutch illustrator and animator.

It’s funny and weird at the same time. The concepts are brilliant. What I like the most about his work is the interactive jokes he makes with his animations, once you click on his animations, you just can’t stop clicking on the figures, because you’ll wonder what will happen next!

This is the interactive site.

AMOSE

I’ve been a ‘fangirl’ of Amose for a very long time. His style is so unique, love the characters, shapes,

lines, color combinations.

His website is under construction, but he has other places to show his work, so go check it out!
