United Prints of America by Sean Mort

United Prints of America Poster Sean Mort4up

UK based illustrator, printmaker and designer Sean Mort has a new poster show entitled United Prints of America at Galerie F in Chicago this month. From what I’ve seen online about the show it looks like a clever, spare, minimalist take on the US of A. Not exactly Alexis de Tocqueville, but is there a way to capture a place like Chicago that encompasses hot dogs and pizza and gun violence and music and art and politics and ethnic diversity and poverty and wealth and,,,? Maybe, but Sean sticks to a limited color palette and sunny but limited view of America. And that’s OK too.
