Robert Newman was most recently the creative director of Reader’s Digest. He has been the creative director of Real Simpleand the design director of Entertainment Weekly, New YorkDetailsVibe, InsideThe Village Voice, and Guitar World. He was also the editor of The Rocket, a music and culture magazine based in Seattle.

More importantly, Bob has been a longstanding friend and colleague to many in the illustration and design industry, and a generous and inspiring voice for many.

For the past few weeks, Bob Newman has been hospitalized. He spent several days in critical condition and two weeks in a coma, but is now recovering and working hard to get back to health. This donation page has been created to support his recovery.

“The money will go directly to Bob’s care and recovery. We’re purposefully leaving the definition broad, to be spent at the family’s discretion. This is a gift to Bob from those who love him. We all want to know that we’re doing all we possibly can to support our beloved friend, and those who mean most to him.”
