Journalistic Illustration in Afghanistan by Victor Juhasz

Illustrator Victor Juhasz shares an in-depth account of his recent experience being embedded in Afghanistan on a journalistic illustration project in both this blog post and in collaboration with GQ here. Don’t miss this outstanding collection of drawings and paintings, as well as his personal account of the experience. A must-read for all artists concerned with expressing the concrete realities of life.

“I returned from Afghanistan with a lot of notes, volumes of pictures, and many drawings…It was a unique privilege and honor to have had the opportunity to spend two weeks with the Alaskan 1-52nd Arctic Dustoff as well as with members of Alpha Company 7-101 from Ft. Campbell, Kentucky.” – Victor Juhasz

Is there a Pulitzer Prize for Illustration? Victor deserves one. This is important work and makes my funny little pictures seem small by comparison.
